·         Ability to meet pre-arranged volunteer schedule.

·         Ability to meet new people and meet their needs.

·         Introduction to entry-level employment skills such as customer service, patient care, office work, telephone etiquette, stocking inventory.

INTERNSHIPS

is a NON-PAID work-based experience which can entail 10 to 100 hours of career observation.  

VOLUNTEERING/COMMUNITY SERVICE

is a non-paid experience which can entail 1 to 100+ hours of donated time to a non-for-profit organization.

The Personnel Department provides for the staffing needs of all Town Departments and ensures that the Town’s hiring practices are in compliance with the law and with the rules and regulations of the Suffolk County Department of Civil Service. The Personnel Department administers the Town’s collective bargaining agreements, directs its labor relations program, and manages the employee benefits program for current and retired employees.
