Once your child secures employment, he/she will need to master the skills for succeeding in the job.  Our second ten-week unit assists your child in developing the skills, attitudes and knowledge of career success.

The habits and attitudes we adopt early in our lives do not change when we enter the workplace.  A child who does not listen well at home will most likely have the same problem in school and at the work site.

Now is the time to become aware of our strengths and weaknesses.

Discuss with your child the importance of:

bullet

Arriving to work on time.

bullet

Calling the employer if he/she needs to be absent from work.

bullet

What are acceptable reasons for being absent from work?

bullet

Being a team player.

bullet

Demonstrating initiative at the job site.

bullet

Reporting to you, the instructor and the employer, any form of sexual harassment at the workplace.

bullet

Demonstrating the desirable traits of honesty, loyalty and dependability.
